Just in case you need a little extra encouragement: it’s important to understand the state your body is in before starting any cleanse. Build up gradually from processed foods ➡️ to whole foods ➡️ to a one-day liquid fast ➡️ to an extended fast. Again, it’s all about you! Happy cleansing!

Health Lovers!!!! It’s about that time, back to school I go! 📚🤓✏️ I’m excited like the kids lol. If I go M.I.A for a bit, please forgive me, this program is no joke from what I hear. Before I left Memphis, I got everything in order and signed up for online classes. I look forward to becoming a nurse! 👩🏾‍⚕️ A big thank you to everyone who’s been so supportive of my school journey—I love y’all! Also, I picked up some essentials: books, gingko biloba for memory, magnesium for total body support, and a cute notebook.

Until next time, take care of yourselves. 🤞🏽Love, Mercedes

Late-night shenanigans! ☺️💖 Last night, I walked to the beach just to feel the sand in between my toes. I enjoyed the sunset and headed back to my room. On the way, I noticed my intense cravings for processed sweets, thanks menstruation. Instead of having the processed junk that causes painful cramps and extreme fatigue, I made berry cereal! It had blueberries, strawberries, mint leaves, coconut flakes, almond milk, and a bit of pecans. *Chef’s kiss* 🧑🏽‍🍳😘

A woman asked me how I manage cravings during this time. Honestly, it’s easier now than before because I cut out processed foods (chips, cookies, chocolate, and other faux foods), which has helped me adjust mentally for when the cravings show up. Now, I have the ability to think clearly and make better choices until my hormones balance out. And that’s because I put so much good raw food in my body daily. The longer you cleanse, the more you’ll be able to say no and pivot in a more healing way. It’s also key to understand that cravings often signal a need for nutrients like B vitamins, folate, iron, magnesium, calcium, and manganese. Eating well provides all of that. Until next time, take care! 🤞🏽🙏🏽💪🏽💯

Health Lovers, I pray you all are well. 🤞🏽 I wanted to share some thoughts 💭 from my time with God this morning, followed by an update.

✨My lifestyle allows me to heal like Wolverine when I'm wounded, whether physically, emotionally, spiritually, or financially—it makes no difference.✨

First, I want to thank you all for the love & support you showed when I released “The Trauma that Comes with Sickle Cell.” Honestly, I was anxious about releasing that video because it was very honest, and sometimes honesty can bring pain. I don't like showing that side of me on the internet; I prefer to keep that Golden Retriever energy in public spaces. But the truth is freeing.

I haven't responded to comments yet. Before hearting “❤️” them, I like to set aside time to respond genuinely, but my life shifted in a big way recently. I took a seasonal job, and I feel so blessed that the people are kind, the work suits my body and mind, the land is beautiful, and my raw vegan needs are fully met.

With that being said, I've decided to treat these 10 weeks like a personal healing retreat. I've been praying, journaling, planning, resting, spending time in nature, and exercising—gracefully, of course, and not all in the same day.

I will continue this intentional pursuit. I will answer comments and emails when I can, but at the very least, I will like them so you know I'm here, we're here. To help my community, I have to maintain my standards, and I can't do that without doing the real work. I don't want to just tell you what's possible; I want to be a healthy example. Thank you for being here. I love you all very much. ❤️🥰 Until next time, take care. Sending big hugs!

Final notes: Thank you to my good friend for sending that colorful photo with the quote, it’s a nice reminder. 🙏🏽 Also, I did my first hike and picked blackberries along the way. 😁 Good times!

New video for Sickle Cell Warriors and Supporters.🩸❤️💪🏽🙏🏽

Please watch and share if you find this content helpful. Sickle Cell Anemia needs much more awareness. This painful disorder becomes especially challenging as one ages. While science has made significant advancements and there are treatments available, including some involving chemotherapy, my hope is that one day we will have a cure that doesn't require such measures.

Eating raw fruits and veggies helps me a lot, but there are other triggers aside from food that can cause sickling, such as weather and stress— which is why I avoid drama. Many warriors don’t realize that certain foods can trigger their condition, and food addiction is often overlooked in America. I teach warriors how to take care of their bodies for a better quality of life.

Lastly, it is very IMPORTANT for me to mention that it is extremely dangerous to cleanse your body thoroughly only to revert to your old lifestyle. I've experienced this firsthand and have had two serious crises that felt life-threatening as a result. This isn't about fear-mongering, just a sincere warning. ⚠️ Take care, warriors!

Thank you for reading and sharing!

With love, Mercedes ✨
