I should note that some of these books were  #gifted  . Titles I was gifted: Go Tell it on the Mountain, Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I should also note that I probably won’t get to half of these before the end of the year. Let me know if you love any of these titles (and/or authors) and why. I’d love to be influenced.

What’s your favorite novel—and why? Let me know in the comments.
Cities of the Plain by Cormac McCarthy is that novel for me. Not for any objective reason. It just is. Probably it’s my favorite in the way that Tolkien fans love the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings films. I loved the characters from the first two novels in the border trilogy and feel as though we’re lucky to have a third installment that brings them all together. 

Have you read any novels recently that exceeded your expectations? Let me know. I need some fresh recommendations
