DEBATE MOTION: This House Has No Confidence in His Majesty’s Government

After 14 years of Tory rule, the house debated whether we have confidence in a Labour government. DEBATE MOTION: This House Believes Britain is No Longer a Fighting Force
Though many maintain that the British Armed Forces remain as effective, professional and capable as ever, leading figures in Parliament, the military and the Pentagon have all recently claimed that successive budget cuts have significantly reduced the UK's ability to carry out independent action. SUPPORT the Oxford Union ► https://oxford-union.org/supportus

The Oxford Union is deeply grateful and encouraged by the messages of support in response to our determination to uphold free speech. During our 200 year history, many have tried to shut us down. As the effects of self-imposed censorship on university campuses, social media and the arts show no signs of dissipating, the importance of upholding free speech remains as critical today as it did when we were founded in 1823. Your support is critical in enabling The Oxford Union to continue its mission without interruption and without interference.
