This Channel presents the lectures and sessions of the International Conference "The Greek Case in the Council of Europe: A Game Changer for International Law and Human Rights?" that took place in Athens 12-14 December 2019.
This well attended international and interdisciplinary conference brought together academics, activists and key actors connected to the emblematic 'Greek Case' that lead to the forced withdrawal from Greece of the Council of Europe in 1969, after the military Junta's seize of power in April 1967. 
The Conference took place under the Aegis of the President of the Hellenic Republic and was a cooperation between the Athens-based Institutes of Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden and the Marangopoulos Foundation for Human Rights. The conference was sponsored by the Carlsberg Foundation. 
All lectures and sessions gathered here are in English, except for the lecture by Judge Sisilianos, the Roundtable Discussion and the Testimonies-Session, which are in Greek.
