Leonor Anthony is a multidisciplinary artist and activist based in Miami, Florida. Born in Cuba. Leonor is an accredited scholar, artist, photographer, poet, filmmaker and published author. She is world-renowned for her courageous use of materials and for using art as a vehicle of activism. She explores limitless styles and materials with unprecedented assertiveness, characterized by violently expressive color and jarring compositions. Through these elements, Leonor is able to bring awareness to civil rights, race relations, women’s rights, prison reform and the environment. Her intense but sophisticated style is a reflection of the artist’s unbending commitment to freedom in all its forms. Leonor Anthony participated by invitation in the 57th Venice Biennale. Her works have been exhibited all over the world and are part of permanent collection of several U.S. museums and universities.She was selected as a 2022 Fellow @ the Arctic Circle Arts and Science Residency Autumn Expedition.
