Welcome to davidnprogress Laid off in the fall for 2023 after 27 years with the company. Around 20 years ago, just five years after completing treatments for cancer, I wrote 2024 on a post-it-note as our goal year to be financially independent. I see it as providence that things timed to make it happen. We have committed to giving early retirement one full year to try out. If things do not work out, well we will just go back to work.
